Dividing a 4x2 PVC cage & housing adult BPs?

Hey everyone,I ordered a couple of black 4x2x1 boaphile-style PVC cages, intending to use them to house my adult BPs. However, when I got them, I realized that they might be a bit ridiculously huge, even for my large female! So.. I was wondering if there's a way to put up a divider to split it into 2x2 sections. I took a trip to Home Depot today to try and scope out PVC/vinyl and find some safe silicone to use, but came out empty handed.
I was also kinda worried if the 2x2 would be enough space for them... I know people keep adults in fairly small racks, but does the length of the cage factor into it? (most enclosures have more length than width) Also, since they're such nice dark cages with low "ceilings", would one hide suffice, so they could have a little more floor space?
Any input would be really appreciated, I can use all the help I can get...lol!

that should work perfect, because alot of people keep their ball pythons in 32 quart tubs that are around 2 foot in length and 16 to 17 inches wide

I would not hesitate to put a large ball python into that size reptile cage. I would provide two hides, however

Thanks for the tips! What would be the best way to divide the cage? I was thinking a sheet of PVC with aquarium sealant, but I can't for the life of me figure out where to get that stuff!

Thats a good size if you split it, but why when you could have ordered separate caging or the "coupe". I would call Ron and have him switch it up for you. Im sure he has not started on it anyhow.

Trust me, it may look splittable but in the front where the latches are bars and brackets. I dont have the cage anymore, but if my memories serves me right....It has a 4inch slab across the front/inner top and and 3inch bar that stacks on top of it or in the front frame.

Your going to have a stair affect on your splitting peice you put in there.

I would call him and change it to the "coupe".

Your going to put more work in it than if you were to call him. He is not that bad on the phone. He will get the information you need.

Well let us know how it goes.

I would talk to the guys you got the cages from. If they are the ones I am thinking about they do have models with dividers, perhaps they could sell you the premade divider and you just glue it in? As for hides two is best but if the back of the enclosure is dark you could probably get away with only one.

Yeah, they're rip-offs of the boaphile cages (I live in Alberta and i didn't want to pay the extra shipping)
