ID on a spider I found in my house?

Found this gigantic brute in my kitchen last night. I think its a wolf spider, although I didn't know they got so big.

Edit: I am in Northern Virginia if that helps.

I think its pretty neat If I can get a positive ID and the species turns out to be able to be kept in captivity I may keep it.

I have it on Bed-a-beast right now, with cardboard for it to hide under and a small water dish. It also ate 2 small crickets and one large one earlier today.

I would definitely say it's a wolf spider.

    Pat would probably definitely know.

That is a wolf spider, probably a Carolina wolf. They do fairly well in captivity, however they are very quick so feeding must be done quickly....lol

    Cool find man!

Here is a caresheet, I cheated instead of typing out mine....LOL

Yup, definitely a wolf spider. I pulled one out of my pool just recently, and I swear it could eat a mouse! Not to mention it had a couple hundred babies on it's back. Lena just LOVED that pic.

Looks like a wolf spider to me, but more than anything, it looks like a spider you should get your hand away from! **leaves to go take a shower in hopes the feeling of bugs crawling all over him goes away.
