    He looks to me like a really cool normal! IDK if there really is such a thing as a "normal" corn either. There's so much selective breeding and line breeding for specific traits that there's tons of variability in the "normals" a lot like with BPs.

    Yeah, he's just a normal. I was talking to the breeder that I bought him from about 4 years ago and he said that every once in awhile some of the kids grow up and explode with some intense color. I sent him an email several months back showing him how this guy has been doing over the years. Sure enough, this is one of those corns he was talking about.
    .
    He was the first baby I saw at the table, unsexed. So I took him just because I've always wanted a corn. I got lucky. Turned out pretty good me thinks.
