Several oils can be used to treat snakes as a temporary measure. Olive oil as pointed out and even mineral oil can be used. Mineral oil is sold by drug store like places. It basically suffocates all the mites. The one bad point is it causes the snake to have a bad shed (only once) after treatment.
You know I heard the warning about "bad shed" after using it, but have never experienced it. One of the snakes I treated was actually just going into blue when he was treated, and he had a perfect shed. The other animal had a normal shed his next cycle as well. (both animals were recieved from the same person).
