Talking Oh, I love what you've done with the place! (pic heavy)

When I posted my rant about my latest vet visit, it was brought to my attention that "Raven" (I honestly HATE that name, but have been too lazy to think of a new one) only had hand-me downs in his tub. So I bought him a few new things today. I'll be getting two more plants for over his hides, but here's the gist of it.

    Old tub:

    New, pretty tub!:

    I think he likes it.

Also, he seems to be darkening up since I've gotten him. Look at his head in this photo, compared to the next one, taken just yesterday.

His body is still light in coloration, but he's getting better and it's not even been two months yet. I'm upping his prey size this week. I was waiting until his body showed me that it was ready, and this week he was fed on Monday, then out and about on Tuesday. So that tells me he's ready for more food. I didn't want to throw his system into shock.

This is the rescue that's 5 years old. Yes, that itty bitty snake is 5 years old...

And in case anyone's forgotten, here's how he was housed before:

That paper towel was his "hide box"

No, I'm the same way. I went after class today, and all I could think about during the lecture was, "C'mon. Hurry up; I want to get to the pet store!"

Well, I liked it before but the new stuff does liven the place up a bit!

-lol- I hated it before. It's just that that was all I had at the time.

I think the vet said he was 300g the last time I was there. I'm going to have her weigh him again on Monday to make sure. I just remember that he was itty bitty, and there was a 3 in it.

He's put on weight since I got him, though. He had loose skin when he first arrived, and its tightening up now. Slowly but surely. I really need to get my own scale...

He was getting a rat pup per month. And when I tried to talk to the owner about it, they didn't see anything wrong with it. I had to shut up about it then because I didn't want to make them angry and decide not to give me the snake.
