Shedding Advice/Help
Hello, I have a question about shedding. My BP has shedded, except the shedding around the face. Is it safe to peel the rest off or should i use a ZooMed product from Petco that helps with the shed. any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Shedding Advice/Help
try putting the snake in a pillowcase dampened with warm water and tied so no escape.if possible get a regular muscle heating pad set it to the lowest temp and then put a towel over the pad.make sure the temp on the towel doesnt get too high,it is just to keep the pillowcase warm not hot.if all goes well the moistness will loosen up the skin and him moving around will rub it off.try this for a half hour or so.it might not work the first time all the way but i bet if you turn that pillowcase insideout you will see at least some shed.try this once a day and if you see improvment continue until its gone.you could also just try a warm water soak for a half hour.i would shy away from any shed aid products as chemicals can never be good

Just don't pull or pick at dry, stuck shed. Soak the snake or try the wet pillowcase trick and then let the snake either slither through a rough, damp facecloth in your hand or if the snake will allow it very gently using that same face cloth, rub/peel the wet, stuck shed off.
