    Dumerils missing scales....

Heres a couple pictures (couldn't get much better being I was holding and photographing and the little guy was on the move), but he has a small patch under his mouth where theres some scales missing, he does not have it anywhere else on his body...This guy was a pickup from a petstore down here (Ben Siegels), any input would be great just because I don't have time to get him checked at for a couple days (my vets office doesn't really do reptiles).

You know...both of my dumerils have this feature as well. I keep procrastinating to investigate the matter further, but I'm starting to believe this is normal for their anatomy. I have to keep reminding myself to check for this on other dums at the next herp expo.

I just picked up a baby male at the reptile show. He also has a patch of translucent scales under his head. All of the siblings I looked at had this as well. I presume this is just part of the animals coloration.

My Dumerils have also. It is normal in my opinion, however I have never read anything to confirm this.
