Herping ID in Massachusetts

I would love to know about a frog we seen yesterday in my yard.
I never saw this one before. Sorry, I didn't get any pictures.
My cousin's kids were trying to catch it for me, after I said to leave it be.
The color was a lite orange sherbert & markings were exactly like a wood frog, but the body frame was similar to a toad? Very plump but, no bumps, very smoothe looking.
I did call my boyfriend to ask (he knows quit abit about herps & stuff here). He thought it sounded like a wood frog or a tree frog?
I also wanted to let everyone know too. I also found 2 Garters by my Goldfish pond. One looks very prego! I hope so. I love those little buggers! LOL
We are in Central Massachusetts. Very wooded area.

it sounds like a wood frog.....just a big fatty!
They certainly do sport the color you described quite commonly. Those are my favorite
