I used to have a pair as well. They're fairly large colubrids, sometimes getting over 6 ft.
For the most part, they're all bark and no bite, like most hoggies, but occasionally you get a fiesty one. My male was always a little more testy then the female.
Since most are WC imports, you sometimes run into the issue of having tricky eaters to switch to rodents, as these guys generally eat amphibs. But they do this much more readily and are not as problematic as eastern hogs.
I suggest caging typical for a large ratsnake or gopher snake. Aspen shavings or cypress mulch both are good substrates, depending on how well you regulate humidity. Typical colubrid temperature gradient should suffice.
