Re: Is this a regular bp or?...

Well i noticed the mites and ticks before the pics. And its not in the same or near any other snakes enclosure. I actually treated it with PAM and soaked it before even puting it in its new enclosure. The local reptile shops are really crappy for healthy bug free snakes. Its not the first one i bring home infested. I did the treatment to the snake and its in a brand new enclosure with paper towel for now to make sure he is bug free. I havent seen any more and ive checked him like rediculously and showed him to about 8 different snake experts (not the store owners) and they all said he looks mite and tick free. So hes good., I was also told today that it might be pastel but who knows. They told me to wait and she what happens when he sheds if he gets yellower. Is there any other significant thing that is a characteristic of pastels?

...they tend to have a more variable pattern....I think you have a purdy normal ball.

If I'm passing by one of the pet shops around here like petco I'll pull in to take a gander at the poorly kept bps there. Sometimes I see some that are high gold colored like yours, and some are really dark. All normals though.
Too many snakes to be declared "sane" as far as my friends are concerned....

    Hi,

The belly pattern can also be a really good indicator for some of the morphs.

He's not a pastel - no matter how yellow he gets. He's a nice normal, and there's nothing wrong with a nice normal! Normals come in colors from bright yellow to dark brown.

Here are some examples yellower than yours that are normals:

    Here's a pastel

Pastels often have blushing, green/silver eyes, and busy/varied patterns. They always have clear bellies and bright yellow patterns.
