What would you rather have? Albino or Axanthic?

I would pick albino. Albinos are one of my favorite genetic mutations out there.

I love the VPI Axanthics but the albino gene will always have my heart. I want to produce some Albinos then acquire some axanthics and a spider so I can work on a "Spider Snow" project that I conceived earlier in the year when I met Brian Sharp and saw his Snows.

You read my mind. I have a Pin Het Albino Female that i am plugging in with my snow male. I am just praying for a pin albino het axanthic so I can breed it to my snow.

I chose albino simply because I own a het. albino male and there are so many uses for an albino. That's not to say that I don't want an axanthic. I just want albinos more.

An Axanthic Ball Python lacks yellow or reddish pigmination due to a change in the xanthophores. This link will tell you more and show some pictures.

Do a google search for BP breeders. Many of them have good pictures of Axanthics.
