I'm glad to hear that I wasn't in the boat by myself! She was so active that I was freaking out! It wasn't until I covered her tank all the way around with a towel that she settled down. And even then it took a little while before she went back in her hide. I just hope she doesn't do it again when I switch out her hides for larger ones. Unfortunately I don't have a choice because she can't even get into the once she has now...part of her hangs out quite a bit and I can't imagine her feeling comfortable. Yeah, my girl just recently got up to 3' and is still happy in her 20long tank.
And when I changed her hides she didn't settle for days! It's not just your snake.
OP...try covering all 4 sides with something until he/she calms down. Maybe that will do the trick. It worked for mine.
