    Cool Un-True Ghost!

Our True Ghost clutch finally hatched. We started with 6 eggs and 2 slugs, and ended up with 3 eggs. When we cut the eggs, I thought we had a True Ghost, did a few cartwheels and even told a few people. Then after a couple days, the True Ghost started getting color, and ended up being a Poss. Double Het. But the other 2 were Axanthic 66% Poss. Het Hypo, and both were girls. So, as the proverbial saying goes "There is always next year!" Especially since our female DH is back up to pre-breeding weight already. We sure were hoping for a VPI True Ghost, but are very happy with the results, and have some females that will help cut the odds down in a couple years. The only thing that would have been better, was to get a Hypo girl from the clutch. Enjoy the pic.

They still look nice though and better luck next year!

My being one of the people you told early I can say that I am extremely disappointed for you...but 3 eggs and two Axanthic is not bad (and both females)...

I know you must have been disappointed, but that's still a hot clutch.

Thanks Justin and Cassandra. As I said I can't be dissapointed with the three beauties I got. I'm sure we will do good things in the years to come.

You may not have hit on the ultimate goal with the True Ghost but you did progress the project considerably. Those females are worth their weight in platinum.
