Pastel laid a nice clutch

Well I came home early this morning after going to the Coheed and Cambria show at the HOB and before I hit the sack I checked the critters and found one of my pastels wrapped around a nice 6 egg clutch. Not a bad clutch for a girl that just turned 2 years old on 7/31. Her sister is due to lay anytime now and I wouldn't be surprised if she lays today.

Here is a photo of her on her eggs, not the best photo but at 2:30 am it was as good as it gets. Hopefully some super pastels hatch from this clutch.


I will post some photos when her sister lays her clutch. I will be hoping for yellowbelly pastels with her clutch.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone! This was the first clutch I produced by a female that I hatched out myself and that definately makes it extra satisfying. All of my other breeder females have been CH babies that I raised up. They mean just as much to me but there is definately an extra sense of pride watching a snake that you cared for since it left the egg and get to the point where she is now producing her own eggs. Now I just hope there are some supers in those beauties!

Aside from seeing a great concert and getting a much anticipated clutch, I also had a clutch of four eggs hatch out. I ended up with 3.0 pastels and 0.1, not the best sex ratio but they are pretty good looking.
