Until you see a vet make sure to replace the substrate by clean dry paper towel, try to clean up the damaged area with some betadine and apply some triple anti-biotic ointment. Keep the area clean and dry and limit your handling as much as you can (only if necessary)Originally Posted by Libitina

Not sure how this happen but if it is due to your UTH make sure it is now controlled by a thermostat, if it is due to another device make sure to remove it IMMEDIATELY.
