About 2 years ago my wife paid over $3000 for a mac laptop when it was the latest and greatest version. She was influenced by a yuppie co worker to do so. When it was 3 months old the receptacle for the power cord broke. I called the local Apple facility and they told me that the first models of the tiger whatever it was had regular problems with the receptacles and now they used another kind because they had so many problems. I could bring it to them and for a fee they would change it to a new one. I went to the large mall that they were located in and found that it was located in the center of the place. The notebook slipped out of my hands on the long walk in and I was momentarily glad that I had bought her a very expensive Apple padded case made for her specific model. When I got to the Apple store they informed me that the screen was cracked and the unit was not repairable. They would now sell me a new one for $3000 and would generously transfer the data for free. They would not take into account that their defective plug in design was the initial problem. They have no concern for the customer. I told them that I would never own one of their products again as long as I live. If you want durability get a Toshiba Toughbook. They are Mil Spec. From now on I use PC's only.
