    Mite question

about a week after I got chance,I noticed he had some mites. But I only saw like 6.So I thought if he had 6 that I could see then there must be about 600! about 2 weeks later I put him in his new cage w/ cypress but didnt treat him because he went to shed. After that i went to walmart to get the stuff to kill mites but they were out.

well now I dont see any mites at all, none in his water dish after he soaks, no little white "babies" no more black spots crawling on him............nothing. its been about 5 weeks now. since I saw anything

is it possible they are gone?
Its been over 16 years since I have had to take care of a snake and I want to make sure I do everything correct. If I had not taken this snake, it would have been killed.

More than likely if he had mites that were visible to you then they have already laid eggs and are too small for you to notice. I would definetly take him off the cypress because that is like heaven for mites. Put him on white paper towels for substrate and treat him for mites regardless if you see them now or not because once you see mites, there is already an infestation.
There are tons of mite treatment on the market but one that I have used in the past that worked well was Reptile Relief. There is also Provent A Mite which works well too.
