Does their head change color when they poop?

Seriously...anyone ever see this? The Duke dropped a mountain this morning to break in his new cage and the boys head was a pale grey which is much lighter than usual.

I'm afraid to say it but Bloods are wicked looking when they're pushing bears out of the cave.

LOL...I think it's more mood-related than um, "output" related. But maybe he's feeling better now & turned on the bling? Bloods are definitely known for changing head color from time to time.

    Hilarious thread, lol.

I have a male that changes from a dark black to a light gray on a regular basis.

Well it must have been a rather pleasant poop for The Duke. He normally holds it in like it's cool so he probably had a really good reason to just let it all go.

It's funny though, I'm afraid to look at him now, he might have changed back.

Re: Does their head change color when they poop?

Ive noticed a relationship between head color and temperature inside the cage.

Call me crazy. But if the cages overall ambient temp is a little higher than normal. The head will be a lighter color. My guess would be to decrease heat intake.

And when the cage is cooler. The head will be darker. In thought, to absorb more heat.

This is just an observation ive seen with my animals.
