Mojave Color Question??
I'm still saving for my first morph, and pretty sure I'm going with a spider, but the other day I saw a light colored mojave that caught my eye and started to make me think about them again.
The question I have is, are the lighter colored majave all hypo or are some just lighter than others??
I googled it, but couldn't come up with much. The ones I usually see are dark colored with yellow stripes on their backs. These where a light tan color with the same markings. Then I read that Lessers (my favorite morph ever) and Mojaves are the same??? That kind of threw me for a loop.

Re: Mojave Color Question??
lessers and mojaves are not the same, there are however lesser mojaves (please someone correct me if im wrong) there are some mojos that have more blushing then others, some that are darker/lighter then others, exc. every animal is unique to itself. if you like the mojave then find the one that really catches your eye

Lesser Mojave is a BEL. Mojaves to me are more variable than lessers.

Re: Mojave Color Question??
It looks like Lesser and Mojave are DIFFERENT mutations of the SAME gene. So there is a relationship but they aren't the same.
I've got a combo Mojave that is getting a lot of brown on her sides and know of a male for sale that is very brown but that may also be a combo. There is probably a lot of variation even without combining with another mutation.

Re: Mojave Color Question??
There is a good deal of variation between mojaves. Some are very dark and contrasting, while others have a lot of white and blushing along their bellies. Search for mojave on here in the picture forum and you'll see plenty of the variations.

Re: Mojave Color Question??
well said Randy, thats how I thought it was explained too. You can breed a lesser to a mojave and get BEL, the Mojave is AKA het BEL. Cant you also get a Hypo Mojave, i guess thats what i was referring to when i said lesser mojave.
