Ok so I went up north, to Paso Robles CA, lil north of San Louis Opispo. My dad lives up on Lake Nacamiento and I found this little guy! At first When I was chasing him, I was thinking Fire Skink, when I caught him, I knew it wasnt. Definitely an alligator lizard face, but what kind?

There is a tremendous variety in the alligator lizards. You have a very nice one there. They're great pets too.

That is an especially beautiful one!! I find alligator lizards in my yard occasionally, but never one so red!
