Just the reply like that... it gave the impression that profiling is a bad thing. Yes, sometimes profiling can be detrimental, but profiling itself is based on past occurances to create the profile that would be most likely to act a certain way, or other such activities. This is largely based on history, whether that be data collected or personal experiences.
Racial profiling is a profile standard or assumption made based largly on their ethnicity or race.
No one here can say they don't profile someone when they look at a stranger. It's human nature, we all do it. Everyone profiles. They may base it on dress, mannerisms, tone of voice, body language and even their race. We make our first impression of someone through that process.
That girl at the club who is wearing a piece of cloth in the front and a miniskirt while she grinds with 5 guys around her.
The weird stuttering guy at the drive thru that looks just a second too long at you while he hands you your change.
The hot bodied college guy wearing some fresh hollister, to die for cologne, and that very flirty and charming smile...
We all profile. Profiling is not such a bad thing...
