I have a snake that had a similiar problem, only his injuries came from a cat. I was on vacation, and a friend was watching my place, long story short, Loki got out of his tank and my friend found him the next day. He had three pencil-thick areas, about 3-5 inches behind his head. When I got home, they were white (infected ) and so required vet treatments.

He got a shot, and I had to give him 2 follow up shots, along with
using non pain-killer Neosporin twice a day.

By his first shed, they were smallish pink spots. By the second shed, pink dots.

Today, Loki is still a happy, healthy snakie, and you can only see his scars if you look for them. Though, the three 'bite marks' are now covered with darker scales.

With some TLC, your baby will be back to his normal self before you know it.
