It's not that your snake is being friendly. More like he's being a Ball Python. They are very shy and timid animals, but they still need their space sometimes.

Re: Silver foggy eyes
My snake is FINALLY shedding, but it's not coming off in one big piece. Is this normal? It started on it's head, and it's coming off in 2" section or so.

No that is not normal. The shed should come of in one piece. Raise the humidity in its enclosure. A good soaking in a little warmer than room temp water ( cool to us is warm to them) and a run through a towel should take it all off.

Re: Silver foggy eyes
Hi,
Misting the enclosure might help too as a first step. Then if he has stopped trying and it is still there the soak is definately the way to go.
To be honest I pay less attention to whether or not the shed is in one peice at the end than whether or not it all comes off.
I'll put up with a thousand peice shed as long as there is none left on the snake - but then one of mine is a horrible shedder no matter what I do.

Re: Silver foggy eyes
The occasional bad shed isn't a major deal and it's not that uncommon in a snake you've just purchased if it came out of less than ideal conditions (or if your conditions aren't ideal for it at present). Here's a thread to review what to do to help the snake if it retains any of it's shed....
