I believe a few members do use it. Do you have any specific questions about that particular substrate? I use newspaper currently, but have had success using aspen as well.
Cause when push comes to shove you taste what you're made of
You might bend, till you break cause its all you can take
On your knees you look up decide you've had enough
You get mad you get strong wipe your hands shake it off
Then you Stand
we did. Aint no cyprus around right now, and we happen to have a HUGE block of it laying around. So we are using it currently. It's moist and will condensate if you dont let it completely dry out. (of course, that could be because we just got a humidifier, and the % is pretty high anyways)
i use a 50/50 bes a beat and play sand for my russian tortoises. It holds moisture well. They are in a 45 gallon rubbermaid tank with a 100w uvb heater light combo. The substrate will dry out, but once a month, or so, i add a gallon or two of water. To make the bedding i use 3 blocks of bed-a-beast. Totally saves money. If it dries out i would have no problem using it for my hognose snakes, but for them i still prefer the walnut shell.
