Any squeamish sexers?
I am in charge of the snakes here. I own them.. my husband likes them, but they are not his, they are mine. I care for them, and their feeders that I breed, 100%. I got into breeding and last year, had my first successful year. So.. I am baby-snake-sexing phobic. I have no problem probing or popping adults and even subadults properly. But the hatchlings.. nope! My husband does it. See, almost every time he pops the babies, they squirt urate! I have developed what the gun world might call a "flinch" and I just don't pop babies. Is this the weirdest thing ever or what (well ok maybe it is not, but it is weird!)

Nope, I just pop them over the sink and have a paper towel handy. Karl's got no interest in them, so it's up to me for all the care!

Re: Any squeamish sexers?
I am just afraid to pop babies cause I'm afrid to hurt them I've never had anyone to show me in preson (the vet wouldent), and even though I've read about it and watched videos on it Im just so afraid that I will do something wrong and hurt them- So for every snake I have to go to the vet and spend $40 for them to pop/probe my snakes.. And thats $40/per snake.... I need to grow some nads lol

Oh, that is SO funny! You gave me a good chuckle. I can just imagine the look on the faces of those around you....

That's why we call him "old one eye".

Re: Any squeamish sexers?
Projectile fluids happen to me often.
Wipe away and continue, wash when you are done.
I guess I just don't mind...

I need to get someone to sex mine because I don't want to do it myself.
I'm not afraid of snakes, because I got Balls!

Re: Any squeamish sexers?
I also exclusively care for all of my snakes, and I can pop all the hatchlings now with no problems. Having so many babies this season gave me a lot of practice in that area and it is really very easy now. The urates don't happen to me often, I guess i'll just consider myself lucky.
