I have the 80 watt RHP's in my RBI 2x3 cages. My ambient temps needed boosting and so this was the logical choice based on my situation. I set the t'stat to 88F and the cages are all heated perfectly.

I second the thought that you might want to call or email Rich and describe your environment and needs and allow him to suggest what will work best for you. Rich is a top notch guy and really knows his products well.

As for being new to RHP's, I disagree. He is not new to them and has been in the business for 25 years. He only now has begun to market his RHP's as an alternative to flex watt and UTH's in situations where UTH's and flex watt are not sufficient or are not the very best thing for the species of snake that is being kept.
