    JCP stopped using hide

I figured that as jungle carpets get older...they would stop using their hide as much, more of just a place to digest than their main "go to" house. My male is a little more than a year old. I've had him for about six months. And just a few days ago, he completely stopped using his hide...preferring to just lie next to it. He ate normally on sunday, and seems to be acting regular. Nothing has changed husbandry wise...he just doesn't want to hide anymore. Should I be concerned?

This is my first morelia...so its a bit of a learning experience.

    Re: JCP stopped using hide

As long as everything else about him is the same, I wouldn't worry about it at all. I would imagine it is more a temperature thing than it is a hide/no hide thing. If you set things up where you have both a hide over the heat and another on the cold side then you will probably see him use the hides a bit more. But with my experience with carpets, a good portion of them don't care too much about hides and usually only use them when they are going into shed.
