Question about a wooden rack system.
Ive come into a situation where Im able to purchase two wooden rakcs that were used by a petstore to house reptiles. Previously they had heat pads put uner some reptile carpet but I would like to run heat tape across the back of the enclosure. The rack houses 6 snakes and has sliding glass doors. Im concerned about having heat tape on wood.
Here is a pic.

Re: Question about a wooden rack system.
Wood has a flash point (temperature where it will burst into flames) of 572 degrees Fahrenheit. You're heat tape won't get that hot under normal circumstances. I've used heat tape on wood cages for years and have never had a problem.

Each enclosure is about the size of a 20 Long. Im not going to be keeping balls in there, though. I plan on investing in some corns and selling hatchlings to local seller.
Im getting a great deal. Two of those wooden racks, (6)20L enclosures, (45) 15 Gallon enclosures, (15) 10 Gallon enclosures, a new incubator, stacks of heat pads, lights, ceremic bulbs, screen lids, hides and water bowls for 300 bucks.

Im going to keep most of the stuff but sell a lot of the aquariums to a local pet store that is by my house. I will come out even moneywise and have a nice start on breeding. Im so excited.
