I am at a total loss here! Please help!

I thought I had this problem cured but my Blood is again pushing with all his might on the front glass door of his tank. There is a small ridge there where the glass fits in and he pushes so hard his face eventually slips off, he does this all night long, and by morning his face is all marked up. Last month he chipped off a tiny piece of his upper lip. Needless to say I am worried.

I've lowered his temps (it's been a month now) down to 83 and I thought that did the trick but that seems to have been only a tempory fix.

I put his kitty litter hide back in, he still pushes on the glass.

His temps are consistent, they don't fluxuate. I use a radiant heat panel. I use a temp gun and they are checked multiple times daily.

His diet is steady and eats no problem.

He is about 3 1/2 feet in length and his tank is a 2x3 from reptile basic.

The only thing I can think of to do is maybe tape off the front glass door to perhaps make him feel more secure. Other than that though I have no clue what else to do.

Any suggestions you all might have would appreciated big time!

Earl, just a thought - sometimes when you've tried everything else, a bigger enclosure may be necessary for the extreme face rubbers.

Are you planning to move him to a larger cage as an adult? If so, it may be time to go ahead & do so.

The only options I can think of are not very enjoyable.
A larger enclosure with possibly no glass.. which is bad if you like visual cages like me.
Hm.. If he only does this at night, try putting a piece of soft-taped cardboard over the glass area so he can't see out of it. Making it seem less like an exit to attempt to get out of. (when I say soft-taped I mean weak tape so you can remove the cardboard and reuse it with the same tape)

    Hes eating alright correct?

Yes I was planning to. I'll just go ahead and do that. Should I snag a 2x4 from reptile basic? Or is there another place you'd recommend?

Here is his ugly mug as of 10 minutes ago. Poor fella.

Oh yeah, he's a hearty eater. I don't even have to do the zombie dance with the f/t rats. I just drop them in front of him and he has at them no problem.

He was a handsome dude before this mischief ya know. All the girls were waiting in line for him to grow up so they could swoon, but now he is the Elephant Blood, The Thing From the Dark Beyond, the snake with no face, the Sumatran Sasquatch.

I don't know the size of it.

You think maybe a bigger water dish to go with a bigger tank?

Just a shot in the dark, but have you kept him on cypress or any other substrate, and did he have that behavior then?

No he was on bed-a-beast briefly when he was a baby, ever since then he's been on newspaper and about 8 months ago I switched to kraft paper.

All this started when I first took his hide away when he out grew his caves back in February. He goes through phases with this pushing on the glass.
