Justin, it can only be obtained through a vet with a prescription. It's best to do a culture before starting an antibiotic regimen, because if the bacteria is resistant to the Baytril, then the animal will just get sicker, and the bacteria even more resistant.
It is a good antibiotic to have around though, in emergencies. I use it on my rats(usually newbies if they have stressed and are getting a myco flare up-rare here, but still). I'm using it right now in a 3.5 year old male rat who has some dental problems with a bottom incisor. Also has an abscess in his groin, most likely one of the glands down there abscessed.
