We had cresteds.
They need high humidity, eat and poo a LOT! And are agile/fast jumpers.
Our adult Rankin only eats a few times a week and has such small poos (he's a small guy) that you don;t even notice it.
Our 4 month old Inland eats a couple times a day...and you can certainly smell when he poos (twice a day).
We are lucky enough to have a neighbor and granparents who love critters. We actually bring the criiters over to the grandparents house...easier for them and the animals seem to do okay...although hauling the 40 gallon breeders is a bit tedious.
Best of luck...if you have a local herpetological society you might be able to connect with a fellow reptile enthusiast who would be able to come in and do what needs to be done.
Just remember...the initial few weeks of anything new is a bit of learning and tweeking etc. no matter how much you research in advance...something will come up.
