I have 6 havabators and I have hatched 2500 bob white eggs this year and I got my first clutch in today Het Albinos. Don't trust the temp. bulb that comes with it!!!!

Use my own thermometer? What model do you have? I notice some models say they are not recommended for reptiles..

I used the acurite from wally world and put probe in the box with the eggs. It will give you two temps and humidity.

I use the picture window model 1582.
Just make sure you use a thermostat to control the temps and add a humidity gage to monitor that.

They don't hold much at all.
You'll eventually want to go with a larger capacity one.

The hovabator that Im looking at has a built in thermostat. Should I still use another thermostat?

Yes. The one it comes with is not that accurate.
Let it run wide open and control it with a seperate thermostat.
