    Future Breeding Possibility

I know it's still a bit early, but I have a year old 50% Het Caramel Albino Normal Ball Python.
I was thinking about purchasing some type of Pastel, Spider, Caramel, or Cinnamon which I wanted to consider breeding possibilities in the future.

Which type (Pastel, Spider, exc.) would prove to be an interesting match up. Should I go with a Caramel and hope for more Caramels in the batch? Let me know what you guys think would be the best genetically. :]

Also, I do understand the percentages with breeding for the most part, but maybe not everything.. Genetics is one of my favorite biological studies.

try to work out some type of breeder loan if you can or buy a caramel female or a het female

cause after you find out if he is het or not then you can breed him to other morphs to make 50% hets and breed em back

What do you mean by a breeder loan?

Hm, good ideas here. I'm not sure what to do yet though. I want to breed in the future, but I probably won't be able to breed anything for the next too years unless I bought an adult male corn snake. :[

    Yeah, I know it. :[
So what would be my chances if I bred my 50% het with another 50% het?

Adult male corn? Too bad you don't live around Denver... we could do a loan with one of my boys. They won't be able to breed with the ladies for about 2-3 years.

I, too, would either find someone to do a loan with or see about getting another Het caramel. Caramels are so pretty...

I agree, I would die to have one. I picked out my snake more because of his coloration and didn't know as much about the caramel breeds then, but now I feel grateful that I picked up something that I could breed successfully into a beautiful morph.

I don't know much about loans but if anyone knows any bp breeders in the chicagoland area I would love to know.
With loans, do they require a charge of some sort (I'm expecting so) and/or some of the hatchlings?

Edit: Also, I've been looking into buying a very pretty albino corn. See how crimsion x het. snow albino turns out. Haha.

    Re: Future Breeding Possibility

you have a 25% chance to get caramels?
you wouldnt be able to know which is a het even if you get normals, the normals could be 50% hets

if you get a 100% het and you breed it and you get caramels then you hit the odds

if i were you, id buy a het female, and start raisin her up if you want to produce caramels

    hope that helps
