Web-savy help needed pretty please
Ok, I have worked and reworked my website. I still can't get it ranked well (heck at all!)on Google. Can someone please give me some pointers on what I am doing wrong? Thank you! I am trying to have it come up when you use keywords such as pet sitter, pet sitting, dog walking and the like combined with Columbus.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Web-savy help needed pretty please
Google's exact formula for how they rank websites is top secret.
Google does know your website exists, because I searched on the keywords "scales tails paws" and it came up.
This may be obvious to you, but google won't notice changes you make instantly, and I have no idea how long it will take on average, but if what you have been doing is sitting at the computer making changes, then googling to see what you rank is, then changing, then googling, etc all in one sitting, you may have fit the perfect set-up without knowing it because google hadn't seen it yet before you changed it again.
The stuff here might help if you haven't read it already.

Most of this information came from my BF, who isn't a web design expert in particular, but he knows quite a bit about computer stuff in general.

I'm sorry I can't help you with an answer to your question. But I noticed that you used my design on the front page of your website (After some much-needed touch ups!) Just made me glad. I hope you get the results you're looking for, and good luck with the business.

That I did, thank you so much I love my logo. I had Nate do it for me, he was wonderful to work with.

Re: Web-savy help needed pretty please
Companies spend thousands of dollars to get their web sites ranked well and it is never guaranteed. Content keywords, XML sitemaps and meta information are the most common methods, however some search engines don't even read meta anymore. Small, low traffic web sites are usually only spidered every 4-6 weeks. Because of that, it can take a long, long time to reach the first page in a search.
Here are three tools you can use to determine how your web site is doing in a variety of search engines.
