Bloody mucus.... :(
I fed my snake a normal meal of F/T mouse about 3 hrs ago! He ate with vigor! But just now when I was about to go to bed, I decided to look in on him and found the below pic! It looks like blood tinged mucus running down the side of his mouth....He did open his mouth really wide while I was watching him, and apart from it being a bit mucusy(could be from feeding) there wasn't anything alarming.
Yesterday he was fine and I held him for a while.
There are no signs of an RI(clicking when breathing, always propping his upper body up against the rack, etc) and his temps are fine.
I know to take him to the vet, so please don't say that! I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and what was the cause and outcome?!?
I feel so bad for him....and he's my favorite out of the bunch!

Re: Bloody mucus.... :(
If he ate with "vigor," he could perhaps have caused the prey to bleed, and later got a drink of water...that kind of situation, and the water dribbling down later?
Otherwise, if he ate fine..that amount of mucus would mean that an R.I was more advanced, and they don't usually eat then (especially with vigor) but BPs constantly surprise me.
I am not sure about it being an R.I at this point, that wouldn't be my first guess.

I have seen snakes with RI's eat but it could also be from the meal.
If there is mucos tomorrow I would say you got an RI and need to get to the vet.
