BAD nose rub
I just picked up a GIANT ( must be high 3000 or more, my scale doesn't go that high) " female" ( probe tomorrow) BP that I " rescued" she was 60$ from this lady. She has some rough spots on her scales...was kept on a heating pad, " the rat chewed through the hot (snakeburn) rock" in a plexiglass coffetable with no humidity, she had stuck sheds and I was told that she " can tell the difference between a rat and a kitten, she didn't eat the kitten, but chose the rat" some people???
Anyway she has a pretty severe nose rub, from the broken window screen and rock used to hold it down. What should I clean the rub with: antibacterial soap and water or hydrogen peroxide (diluted) or some chlorhexadine spray
After that can I use a lite application of Neosporin or what?
Thanks, this is my first BP "injury" so any info. would be greatly appreciated.
PS) She has been an only reptile for many years and otherwise appears to be in pretty good shape considering the neglect, how long should I quarantine?

Re: BAD nose rub
I don't know what disinfectant to use...but I have had good success with Neosporin on missing scales/rubs.

Re: BAD nose rub
Disinfect with Chlorhexidine, and treat with regular Neosporin without the painkillers in it every day. It will go away with a couple of sheds.
But BEST BET is to take it to the vet to be sure.

Thanks, I will!!!
My buddy came over and probed her, she is a she...YES!!!
She loves her new diggs especially the correct temps...I usually wait longer to feed, but she had a bit of a sunken belly so I put a F/T weanling rat in and she slammed it ( I was told she would only eat live every other month???) then gave her another and that was gone too...I'm leaving her alone until she sees the vet.
Also, she has a VERY laid back personality...hardley head shy...nice girl!
