    No Beginner's Luck For Me

So I'm totally bummed. My female I was expecting to lay this week did, and she totally slugged out. She laid 5 perfectly formed slugs. Boo.

She's super pretty and high gold and had locked several times with a nice pastel. I was really looking forward to her clutch. I'm actually a little heartbroken. I think she was too, she was coiled around all five slugs.

My other female laid and I recently hatched six perfect normals. She was bred with pastels. Apparently the odds are not in my favor this first time around. On top of that it the sex ratio was 5.1, I was hoping for more females.

    Boo.

Well, there's always next year. I should be happy that my first season at least I got some healthy normals.
