possible morphs? new to this

hey yall i just got the female to complete my pair of ball pythons and intend to breed them but i was wondering if there are any morphs a pair of regular balls can throw although i think that one of my balls may be a Black Granite and if he isnt he is definately a beautiful regular with alot of black and wonderful irredesence and also if by chance they do throw a morph is there any implications with breeding cross breeding them? or would it be a better choice to when the time comes get another snake? be it male or female depending on the need?

Normals throw normals... morphs throw morphs.

Rarely do you see normals males being used for breeding.

If you start considering breeding for genetics, then chances are that sweet male of yours will never see the inside of a female's enclosure b/w October and April (AKA ever).

You never know though, post a few pics, as he may have that certain je-ne-sais-quoi! Lots of super sharp critical eyes on this forum.

Also keep in mind that snakes that are heterozygous for recessive traits are phenotypically normals.

Snakes are line-bred all the time, if they weren't we would not have the amazing diversity we do in captivity. They are also non-migratory, so this would occur in the wild as well.

Most often dad is bred back to the daughters to find out if certain traits are indeed genetic. That is the easiest route... as dad can breed lots of daughters, but mom can breed only one son.

And if he is a granite... then he isn't a normal.

Addendum:

There is nothing normal about the normals. If you have two snakes that you are really into, and you want to see if they are genetic... give it a shot.

The variance and beauty in normal bps is off the charts!

If you only ever create clutches of healthy beautiful normals, then that is not such a bad thing.

dug up out of the ground in Africa 99.995% of all base mutations were found running around in Africa. Pretty cool huh?

in theory a normal x normal could produce a recessive morph such as albino or pied. The chances of that happening are slim. All these morph genes are in the wild so you never know what you may find.

You have more of a chance of flying to Africa and finding a morph than breeding two normals together to get one.

well the first ones were coming in just mass shipments of normals and got picked out. Once things took off thats when trappers in Africa started really looking for them.
