    Re: can you tell me?

    Hi,

    It made sense to me?

When they first hatch they have the yolk they just absorbed so look well fed but once they use that up then if they are not eating then they start to look like the first snake pictured.

It's a bit counter productive to focus only one one figure or stat in isolation was the point I took away from his post.

Taken to absurd lengths a 600g ball python could be a great healthy youngster or a skeletal male on the point of death.

But however you slice it I don't think this animal is ready for sale by the indicators we would be looking for if we were the prospective buyers.

And if this is what it looks like as a great feeder then god help it if it decides to go on a diet.

But it might be a better focus for the thread to help the OP get the snakes started on the right track and eating well and regularly so that when they are sold it is a good experience for everyone involved.

    Re: can you tell me?

I take offense to the OP posting them on a site, immediately after getting them, and claiming they are healthy.

He just got them, they were mislabeled (and he did not even know this), and they have not been through QT.

Easy enough. He is dumping them... and using a pat phrase "healthy and eating" to ensure they sell.

There is no way a 65 gram snake looks as thin as the ones posted.
as far as the topic at hand, there is nothing i can say that hasn't been said. i hate that "breeders" like this are going to ruin the hobby for every one else. but i just had to say wow to this guy, kudos. i just love the markings.

And that right there shows the OP is just trying to pass these off to someone who doesn't know any better.
Saying they are healthy and great eaters in the ad when they look like that is a flat out LIE.
Either they aren't eating or they are full of parasites and aren't gaining weight.
Either way, they are in no condition to be sold.

I guess it's a good trade for the snakes because you are on the forum and getting some feedback.
Your snakes are very underweight as evidenced by the triangular body shape. They ought to be rather round.
Please share what you are feeding them and how much they weigh. Maybe you could also let us know if you have any questions regarding QT procedures and husbandry.
We are here to help you

wow no I am not a breeder of balls as of yet but I will be starting since I am now gaining the facts I need I only had these snakes that day when I took the pic so yes I do fed them really I knew they needed extra care when I got them and I have been feeding twice a week and the mean one eats at every feeding but the other one has not eatin in a week as I am trying to feed frozen and they were getting live but I will have to go back to live if he does not eat by tomorrow I also was told they were male and female and my hubby probed them and they are both females oh well you live and learn
