After it shed I noticed it had retained an eye cap, so I gently removed the eye cap. The next thing I know the eye had disappeared, so we took a visit to the vet. He said the eye was gone and the eye must have been ruptured somehow. The retained eye cap was holding the fluid in the eye and when I removed the cap the fluid leaked out. He said more than likely a rat had scratched the eye. He also said it was healing very nicely and as long as he was eating I should have no problems. He never missed a meal until breeding season, then went off feed. I am waiting for him to start eating again.Originally Posted by Patrick Long
