Re: Have anyone you ever witnessed your snake shed?

Yes, many times. I've even had them shed in my hands before which is pretty cool. They've started by pushing their way through the cracks between my fingers and stretching around between your fingers to get things loosened up. If this happens, it's really tempting to help them out, which is fine if you want to, but it's a neater feeling to let them do all the work using your hands as a rubbing stone/pulling branch.

Re: Have anyone you ever witnessed your snake shed?

I have never witnessed a normal shed by one of my snakes, but I have had to help one or two of my snakes shed due to humidity issues (normally when they are in QT in tanks). Just recently I had to help my corn shed everything but his head (he'd gotten that part off). I love the technique I learned from one of Adam's videos. You put the snake in a tub with a little water and put the tub in the rack. Come back in about 30-60 min and help them get the shed off. It comes right off and is so easy.

Re: Have anyone you ever witnessed your snake shed?

I've only seen natural shedding once with my Butler's Garter Snake, though I have assisted my Western Hognose twice in shedding with my special natural way, so it pretty much looked like shedding.

Yup, my first BP ever I saw her drink AND shed within the first two weeks I had her- which to me was pretty cool to see both! (oh yea, and I saw her eat, too- that was cool!)

Yes, I have. He does not seem to mind showing off while he curls and goes around and around and around... *dizzy*

When it was needed, I also assisted once using the soaking method and a moist cloth.
This above all: to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not then be false to any man.

Re: Have anyone you ever witnessed your snake shed?

It is very easy for me to tell when my Black blood adult starts a shed if I'm in the room. I can hear her banging around in her cage...moving her waterbowl around, rubbing against the cage, etc.

Yes I saw my BP’s first shed ever. Kind of boring though. I was excited when it came off in one piece though
