With those oil based heaters you might want a fan to circulate the air. My nephews had one in their room to raise ambient temps and it seemed like the heat was extremely localized. I use a ceramic heater which blows the air. The ceramic may reduce humidity a bit, but using melanine racks (vs the open air racks) I have not had a problem.
Also, I would caution against relying on the built in thermostats of these devices. I have mine hooked up to a Ranco, since the on board thermostat of the ceramic heater is terrrrrriiiible!
