    Size Variations between Bloods

I know there are a few different types of Bloods.

Can someone give me a simple run down as to the different kinds and their average sizes?

    Thanks!

    Doesn't answer my question though.

Blood pythons (Python brongersmai) - Size Average?

Sumatran short-tailed pythons (Python curtus) - Size Average?

Borneo short-tailed pythons (Python breitensteini) - Size Average?

Blood pythons (Python brongersmai) - Big.

    Sumatran short-tailed pythons (Python curtus) - Large-ish.

Borneo short-tailed pythons (Python breitensteini) - Fat.

I'm sorry, that was not helpful in the slightest. I just couldn't resist. I know the Sumatran short tails are the smallest of the bunch, though I don't remember what the average size is. I have made myself stop researching them because the more I know the more I want one.

    Ooops sorry.

Blood Python: Hatchlings approximately 12 - 16"+/-. Females average 4'- 6', males average 3' - 5' adult size. Maximum reported size is around 10 feet, although 8'+ specimens are considered EXTREMELY large. Blood pythons are heavy, robust snakes that may exceed 30 pounds in weight as mature adults

Borneo short tails: Hatchlings approximately 12"+/-. Females average 4'- 5', males average 3' - 4' adult size. Maximum size is around 6+ feet & 25+ pounds.

Those I got from NERD's website.

    Python Curtus I'm unsure.

    Re: Size Variations between Bloods

Well, my two largest are a 13 year old Borneo STP female who is over 6' in length, and a 7 year old blood female who is right at 6'. Both were overfed by their previous owner.

My largest curtus is an 8 year old female who is approx. 5.5' in length, raised & maintained on a moderate feeding schedule - every 10-14 days.

The majority of my females of all three species (3-6 years of age) are between 4.5-5' in length, and in the 10-15 lb range.

    Does that help?
