Still can't. OH so tempting, but I promised myself I'd wait. It just wouldn't be fair to the animal right now. I do hope you'll keep me updated on future clutches, though.

    Holy crap!!
Look what I miss when I have to go to bed! Those are some great looking bloods (curtus?).

I'm anxious to see what little black bloods come out of that huge clutch of eggs!

Earl, you have to buy it now, it's got your name on it. Mhmm.

A trick I learned from Tracy @ VPI - dental floss! You can use dental floss to very carefully, VERY gently "saw" eggs apart from each other. You want to go slow, pay careful attention to what you're doing so that you don't open any of the eggs in the process, and have someone help you that can hold the eggs to steady the clutch while you saw.

Ed, I'd would not recommend sawing eggs apart just so they can be opened. It's not something you necessarily want to do - it should be saved for those "last resort" moments where you *must* remove an egg in order to preserve the rest of the clutch.

In the final days of incubation, eggs usually become quite pliable & can be separated easily by hand...if you absolutely have to get into a clutch early, I'd at least wait till that point to do so.
