Yeah, I think up north a bit there was still snow the beginning of this may. It's a different world up there...

Wow! Awesome pictures! ^_^ I didn't realize how short bodied they were. I knew they were long legged creatures, but I was always thinking they were longer from the shoulder to the rump. He looks like someone squished him

They are an amazing animal. A bit goofy looking but simply the most fascinating thing to watch really. When we lived way up in northern Ontario, Canada they were all over the place and made driving a bit hazardous at certain times of the day or certain seasons of the year. There's pretty much nothing scarier than coming around a sharp curve in your little puddle jumper car and a massive bull Moose is suddenly right there in your lane.
I've sat on the side of the road and watched one melt away into the bush. It's impossible to believe but something that big can move through a very thick brush area without making much if any sound. They are a dangerous animal though during their rut. A male moose will take a run at pretty much anything then. We were warned about stopping to watch them during that time of the year and being careful about our forest walks.
Mom is from way up north in Jackman. My Dad would complain about there being no Deer up there. We would tell him that the Moose we saw were the deer. That they were bigger up there.
Mom & Dad both loved taking pictures of the wildlife up there.
My Boy Friend took me & my girls to Florida (never been there) a few years back. It was like a different planet for us. We didn't go
to Disney or anything, but Aligator Alley was fantastic!
My next trip is coming up on the week of July 4th. I'm hoping to photograph black bears. Probably going further up to Greenville. Then in November, I'm going to Harmony to hunt deer.
