While I was in MI last week, my girl called me and told me that one of my females dropped a clutch of eggs. She had a friend over and they said they were confident and excited and could move the eggs for me if I walked them through it. I figured it would be a 5 minute conversation. 2 hours+ and a lot of frustration later the eggs were in an egg box in an incubator and the female was back in her tub.
She was wrapped around 4 eggs with two eggs off to the side. I told her how to candle them and I ended up having her rotate one of the discarded eggs to match the rest of the clutch after she saw red blood vessels, but also that it looked like it would have to be rotated to match the other eggs. We'll see if those two make it. It was a Bell pastel x normal with the possability of spiders.
I told her to mark the tops before moving them, and number the odd egg, with tiny X's just enough to be visable. As you can see, she really went to town with the marker. These are pictures I took yesterday, one week after being laid.
