    Problems still...

Ive been feeding my ball 2 mice every 7 days. I finally got a scale and weighed him about a week to two weeks ago. He weighed 475g. I havent been able to get an accurate measurement but he appears to be about 2 1/2 ft. long. I wish I had a pic to show girth but heres the reason I dont:

The past 2 weeks, maybe three, he has been acting really funny. It seems like hes in hunt mode every time I try to handle him. I opened the cage to handle him after waiting two days from his last feed and he was still in hunt mode. I assume he is still hungry since nothing else in his environment has changed, temps stay regular, etc. I was considering switching him to rats, but after seeing the small ones, I feel they are still too big for him. I could be paranoid, I dont know. The rat pups are smaller than feeders and small rats seem too big, so what am I to do? Feed three or four? Feed until he wont take anymore? He has never missed a feeding by the way. I fed him last night, and would of fed him three mice but they ate out of their box while i was in the store in the car and I only found 2 (yikes!).

I really dont want to run the risk of introducing prey that is too big and scaring him into a fast. He's been sooo good with taking his mice so far I dont want to ruin it. But, I also want to make sure he's taken care of and him curling up into a strike position merely because I attempt to open the cage is not good. I know if I stick my hand in ill get bitten, that much is apparent. But Im going to need to clean his cage soon and everything else. If he would let me get him out I would take pics to show how big he was in comparison to other things (like previously suggest by others) but he's just not having it right now.

Suggestions would be awesome! Thanks in advance!

finicky one isnt he. mine all look like they are gonna strike at me at one time or the other. i have one girl that hisses everytime i go to get her out. LOL to me it seeems normal but im still new to BP's. still trying to get them comfortable with me. all 4 babies are doing well. their temps are good and they eat every week. alot of people say feed him no larger than his girth. i would try something a little larger.

Yeah.. those mice don't make a lump but those small rats just look so big! Im afraid they're just too big right now, but other people feed small rats at that size so Im hoping someone can help me out. I dont know... my first snake so Im trying to do things the right way, and thought I was doing fine until now. I hit a speed bump lol
