salt water and snakes
hi.my bp (monty) has got a cut on the side of him,which i think is due to him falling off the heat bulb guard i got in his cage.now i've bathed him in warm salt water.is this ok? if not what antiseptic items can i use on a snake?

You can pick up some betadine and use that as an antiseptic. I don't think salt is a good idea (and would hurt!).
Betadine is available at Walgreens or other large pharmacy stores.
Also, please remove any structures he can climb on. BP's are not skilled climbers and can easily fall onto cage furniture.
This time might be a scratch, next time might be a few broken ribs and internal injuries.
You can post a picture and we can help you figure out what needs fixin.

Neosporin is okay to treat the burn (stuff w/o painkillers). I'd really recommend taking him to a vet to be looked at.
And then I would definitely recommend rethinking your current enclosure setup as it sounds that was the cause of the "accident" and really all that heat bulb will do is pull any humidity out of the cage.
