I tend to put the males in with females but I sometimes switch it.

Re: WOW This question needs answering...(Introductions)

I have done it both ways - there are clearly some males that don't care where they are or what they are breeding - others I find do better wallowing in their own filth and I mean that litterally.

I don't think I've come across one that bred better in the females tub (or perhaps it's that I haven't come across a female reluctant to breed in a males tub?) - so for the most part I've stuck with moving females.

Also I think a lot of people keep their males in smaller tubs so it's not space-wise practical to move the females in there.

Well I would first like to thank all of you for your input and advice. Tosha it's nice to hear that I might not have messed up to bad, but I'm still trying it the other way for while since it seems the overwhelming majority move their males around. The specific females I'm thinking definitely might do better staying home, everytime I put them in the males tub they shoot to the back like abullet, I'm sure that's not a sign of calmness and I'm sure it might bug my males out a little. From what i hear it wouldn't be that uncommon for someone to still be receptive and just lay clutch a little later than the others. Who knows! I'll try!

Re: WOW This question needs answering...(Introductions)

I honestly don't think that it matters either way. This is my first year breeding. I introduced my females into my males cages, and at least 8 out of 10 of my females that I bred this year have either given me eggs or ovulated. The other two may also. Hope this helps.

My male tubs are smaller so I move the females so they won't have room to run from the male

Re: WOW This question needs answering...(Introductions)

I can not attest to this first hand but I have had people tell me that getting the male out of his comfort zone breaks that eat, sleep, drink, poop cycle and that the active male will hlep make them both more receptive to breeding.

They stop eatting but will get back fast, well my boys do.
I had a male Mojave breed six females and he stop eatting for a 1.5 months and started eatting like crazy. I think you can stress the female out by taken her out and putting her inside all these males cages unles you breeding one to one. I have a female pastel drop me six eggs and she looks like she will drop more this year, she is over 2500 grams before breeding to a Cinnie a Spider and a pastel and they all locked, she has never been moved, let the boys go to her.lol

    So I pray!
