    Color from Shed

Ok I have a strange question. My new blood had a poor shed and I was soaking him for a few minutes to get the rest off. I pulled him out of the water and cradled him in my arm while I removed the little bit of retained shed. About 10 minutes later I noticed this yellow coloring all over my arms...it is powdery as I rubbed my nose and it transferred. It doesn't wash off easily with soap either. Any ideas I have never seen this with any of my Balls. I looked at the removed shed and it too has a yellow color to it. This stuff is basically everywhere.

Here is a pic of my hand where you can see yellow.

    Any ideas?

Cypress...could it be coming from there?

And I just switched to it in the past week...needed more humidity.

Well, Its hard to say. I would suspect that it came from your substrate. But that being said, if none of your other snakes have that, and are one the SAME cypress, I dont know...

    Does cypress have added dyes?

How does it taste? Lol, I know, weird.. but I see myself tasting it.
    Greasy?

Always used cypress for the bloods, and have never seen anything like that.

LOL! Such a trooper!! You dont want to know what I thought it might be. A taste test certainly proved that theory wrong.

Just odd though, I wonder if Kara or BC will pop in and let us know whats up.

Just a side note: This seems oddly familiar to me, and I just can't peg why. Like I've seen it before.... hmm

Crazy! Now I'm dying to know what it is! Especially since you did the taste test!

Was the water you were soaking it in tainted at all??? Do you happen to have Curry Powder or Food Coloring on your counter?

Any type of "body fluid" from the snake wouldn't be powdery, right?

Ive been thinking about this, and I think that maybe something was in the container that you were soaking him in.
